- encountered someone and you wish that he/she is your buddy? Last Saturday at work, I had a customer who was so chirpy and we talked as if we knew each other for ages. Her name is Vaani and she's based in Sydney. Even though we talked for abt half an hour, I knew more of her than the people I've worked with for 2 years! Before she left, she told me to give her a call if I ever wanna chat. Knowing that I'll never contact the people I met through work, I trully felt sad that that will be the last I'll see of her.

- re-read a book which you have put aside for years and realised that its so much different? Was looking for a childrens book for my nephew at my book case whilst I stumbled upon Alfian Saat's A History of Amnesia. I was reading a few pages and realised that what I thought was what I read years ago was not what I'm reading now. Maybe its due to maturity or the vast reading I've done since, Alfian's poetry is so much more darker and better than I remembered.

- seen someone you fancy but unfortunately, he's wearing a wedding ring? As consolation prize, I'll just see him from afar to fulfill my eye candy of the day.

- lied to people that you're attached when you're not (or vice-versa)? I've the habit of saying that I'm married with two kids to my customers, knowing that if I were to tell the truth, they'll look at me with pity and shame. I would be able to read their mind thinking that I'm too 'choosy" or have 'high standards'. Its easier to act as if I'm 'normal' than being myself.

- been insulted straight in the face but you pretended it didn't matter and just laugh it off, while your heart feels like its been squeezed through a straw?

There's been a debate ongoing regarding Section 377a in the papers for the past few months. It got slightly intense after Alfian Saat's unfair termination as a relief teacher were made known in the press. The reason why its such a hot discussion topic is due to the fact the the law is archaic and the law makers are keen to bring the Code “up-to-date” with the current social mores and trends.
Forums are filled with views and comments whether it should be retained or repealed. I simply find it ridiculous that the topic is even being debated at all in this modern times! By denying the rights of the minority, ironically, we are going against our motto, 'One People, One Nation, One Singapore'. Just because some people don't approve of who others are sleeping with, doesn't make it right to dictate on which gender they have to rightfully sleep with. All of us have brains which we can use to think and decide and if one is happy sleeping with someone who happens to be of the same gender, so be it. Nothing is being asked of you in the relationship or in their bed.
In case you're wondering, Section 377A (Outrages on Decency): "Any male person who, in public or private, commits, or abets the commission by any male person, of any act of gross indecency with another male person, shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to two years."
On a happier note, Dumbledore is gay! I read all the 7 books and it didn't even cross my mind. Always suspected Snape but ... Dumbledore!! ::jaw on floor::

I've been on the go for the past few days.
Last Saturday, I was involved with the Career Fair held at Suntec City. Even though I was there only in the afternoon, it felt as if I was there for the whole weekend! It was so tiring and draining. I believed that during the hours I was there, I spoke to the most number of people in my entire life. Many apologies to those who approached me wanting to know more about the jobs available. I myself wasn't sure what I was talking about. All the best to all of you who submitted the application forms.
Sunday was a reunion of sorts with PT, HT, KT and Maia. The last time I saw Maia was back in Jan when we had the weekend in Batam and boy, has she grown much since then! Hopefully it wouldn't take so long for the next get together!
Tuesday, I attended a team-building course sponsored by my company and conducted by Focus Adventure. By far, its the most entertaining & best course I've attended so far. Can't remember having so much fun with strangers. Even thought the attendees are also from my company, they are all from different departments and subsidiaries, based throughout Singapore. Thus the chances of me working or even meeting them are slim to nothing!

The men outnumbered us like 3:1 so for most of the group activities, I somehow ended being the only chick in the team. By having the course held at Sentosa, it's like having a short holiday away from Singapore. Works wonder for me cos I'm getting sick of going to work! HR claimed that they'll be sending staff for at least 3 courses per annum. It's September and its my first for the year. I doubt they will squeeze 2 more for me by the eond of the year. Oh well, its better than nothing!
13th Sept is the start of the Ramadan month. I'm sympatised with the people of Sumatra. Here in Singapore, you hear people recounting their experiences with the tremors and evacuation out of thier office buildings whereas our neighbours are losing sleep cos they just lost their homes, livelihood, families and lives. May god bless all of you!

Thanks to Ms PT again, she managed to snag great seats for the upcoming Linkin Park's concert. Yippeee!!! She even sent us an email as to where we will be at. Had decided not to take the free standing tickets as we're sick of seeing the boys in between people's heads. (Maklumlah, kita semua nie pendek-pendek belaka).

I can still remember buying their Hybrid Theory album at HMV like a week before I depart for Mecca in June 2000. Back then, they didn't get any radio airplay in Singapore's airwaves. A few years after that, I was so hyped to hear that they will be coming to Asia but unfortunately they did not make a stop in Singapore. Somehow, lady luck must be smiling on us cos my then classmate, Jo, knew someone and managed to get mosh-pit tickets for us for the KL concert at Merdeka Stadium on 15 Aug 2003. We left the stadium wet, achy and deaf! The second time was at the Padang on 22 Jun 2004, which I'm embarrassed to admit that I passed out and Alan had to drag me out of the crowd. That was also the concert that my ex-colleagues chipped in to pay for my ticket for my bday prezzie. At long last, after 4 years, they are coming to Singapore again, and this time they will be performing at the Indoor Stadium. Allegedly, Aisyah is paying for my ticket as a belated bday present cos till date she has yet to get me anything. Fat chance I'll forget what she promised me!

Passengers have 3 minutes to evacuate the plane.

See the man standing on the tarmac somewhere mid-photo. He seems to value his luggage more than his and his family's lives!

I will always remember 14th July 2007 as the day I grabbed Gwen Stefani's ass. Think I was too much in awe of her standing right in front of me, that I couldn't do anything but just stare and reach out for the nearest anatomy I can grab. Didn't even cross my mind to take a photo when she's like centimetres away from me. The camera I was holding in my right hand was a forgotten weight. Ms HT (thank gawd for her), snapped several beautiful shots of her ....

It just occurred to me that I asked men dozen of timesin a day for their numbesr, while their wives standing/sitting next to them without blinking an eyelid. You must be thinking that I'm into some triad love orgy. Fortunately (or unfortunately, depends on how you look at it), I'm doing it while at work. I've to update customers contact numbers in my company's database in case there's a need to call them in the future.

I am not so bold as do the same (asking for guy's numbers, with or without the presence of gfs/wifes) outside working hours. It must be the uniform I'm donned in. Its like having my own secret special powers! Unfortunate that I can't even run, much less walk in my work shoes. Will definitely trip over some miniscule dust.
