went to work with my passport in handbag. walked with a spring to my steps. somehow i strangely felt adventurous, like i can just go anywhere on this fine friday. was daydreaming in the mrt, seeing myself taking a bus and cross the causeway to johor or a ferry down to batam, or even go to the airport and see whats the next departing flight (ala amazing race).
alas, the mrt stopped at somerset stop and its back to reality. have to get off the train and go to work. sneaked a peek in my handbag and my passport is teasing me again. If only......

Managed to have a short conversation with a new colleague. As an ice-breaker, we swapped personal details and strangely the first question she (a young girl of 21) asked when I told her that I'm single and turning 28 this year is "How come you're not married?". I replied that no one wants to marry me, jokingly, when in actual fact I was angry with her, to even ask me such a question. Somehow, it pisses me off that my singlehood is a sore topic for me. Am i being too sensitive the older I get or is it others who are being the insensitive ones viewing me as an old maid?

On other news, Bapak Mas Selamat is still MIA since he escaped from his detention centre last wednesday. if he is indeed in singapore, wonder how much longer he will avoid detection, knowing how small our city is. Can't recall having a massive manhunt in Singapore ever, could be our very first. Wanted posters are being put up everywhere; bus stops, train stations, lamp posts, lift lobbys, doors of buses and even at my work's place notice boards! Even the telcos joined in forces to send his photo with his description to all mobile subscribers last Sunday. All the best to our men in blue :)

A very outspoken colleague of mine commented that i'm friendly, unlike her. at first i thought she was being sarcastic as I would say the very same thing back at her cos she's so bubbly and loud. It turned out that she was sincere. Strange how other people see me differently that what i am.

Just got back from dinner with pt and had an awful garlic chicken pasta which was so garlicky and creamy that i just couldn't bring myself to finish it. the garlic was so strong that i could kill a horde of vampires just by blowing a kiss. PT the imp, commented that since im not getting kissed tonight, I could have all the garlic i wanted.

Its the time of the year I write my new year's intentions (again). I prefer to use the term 'intentions' as life is more flexible and unpredictable than the term 'resolutions' would imply.
1) stop biting fingernails (this has been appearing in my ny's list since 1988!)
2) be healthier: stop eating so much junk and please exercise.
3) stay focus and positive. don't let anybody pull you down.
4) be punctual for work
5) learn basic french
6) write daily .... write down ANYTHING!
7) read at least one book a week.
